Paul Morrell is a seasoned communicator and strategic leader with more than two decades of experience guiding communications, policy, and management efforts across government, corporate, and nonprofit sectors. As a board member of The Compassionate Advocate, Paul brings a deep commitment to ethical leadership and a passion for amplifying voices driving positive change. 

Currently a partner at Touchdown Strategies, Paul previously served in key leadership roles within the Stand Together community, where he helped build a full-service communications agency advancing philanthropic and advocacy missions. His earlier work includes advising global corporations like PepsiCo and BP on high-stakes communications and crisis management. 

Paul’s public service includes senior roles under President George W. Bush, including NASA Chief of Staff, Deputy Chief of Staff at the Department of Energy, and Director of Communications Planning at the National Security Council. He also spent over 20 years advising leaders in the U.S. House of Representatives, including as deputy communications director for the 2012 Republican National Convention. 

With a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from the University of Maryland, Paul brings a principled, results-oriented approach to his role on the board—guided by a belief that compassionate advocacy can bridge divides and create lasting impact.
